Announcing Our New Incoming Executive Director

We have some very exciting news to share! The Board of Directors of Here For Now Theatre is pleased to announce the appointment of Crystal L. Spicer as Executive Director. Crystal will be joining us this April, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome her to the team.

“We are delighted that Crystal has agreed to accept this role and reflects on the ongoing growth and success of Here For Now. Crystal brings a wealth of expertise in Administration and Production to this newly created position.” - Susan Moffat on behalf of the Board of Directors

Crystal brings more than 20 years of leadership experience in the performing arts, spanning music, dance, and theatre. Her career has taken her through some of Canada’s most respected arts institutions, including the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, the Stratford Festival, the National Arts Centre, and the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra. She also played a key role in bringing Queen’s University’s Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts to life - a project rooted in both artistic vision and community connection.

Crystal’s appointment feels especially meaningful as we continue to settle into our new permanent home. With her deep understanding of production, administration, and what it takes to sustain an arts organization from the inside out, she brings exactly the kind of leadership we need as we keep learning what this company can become.

Announcing our 2026 Season!

“The 2026 season is all about curiosity, courage, and the artistic thrill of taking big swings. What unites the plays I have selected for next year is a boldness of imagination. Every playwright in the 2026 season has taken creative risks that feel fresh, daring, and I hope will be deeply rewarding for audiences.

As a company devoted to new work, it matters to me that we make space for plays that push boundaries and spark curiosity. Theatre should be alive, thrilling, and ever-evolving — a place where we challenge our narratives and discover new ways of seeing. I believe that this is exactly what next year’s playbill will do, and I can’t wait to share it with you.”
